Hi, I’m HEATHER.
I’m truly honored you’ve found your way here.
I’m a nurse, a musician, and a soul deeply devoted to walking with others through life’s most tender transitions. My path has been winding—shaped by music, medicine, grief, and the ocean’s pull.
I was born and raised in Southern California, where my first loves were the sea and song. I studied music at a conservatory before my journey led me through veterinary medicine and, eventually, to nursing—a path I’ve walked now for over a decade. I’ve worked in spaces ranging from the urgency of the Emergency Room to the quiet intimacy of hospice care. Each has left its mark on my heart.
But the more time I spent at the bedside, the more I began to sense that something essential was missing. I felt a deeper calling—not just to tend the body, but to honor the soul. To companion people through life’s thresholds with presence, reverence, and heart.
Death and grief have been intimate teachers of mine since I was very young. I’ve accompanied many people through their dying process, and each journey has deepened my reverence for the sacred threshold we all must one day cross. And here’s what I’ve come to know: our culture is not prepared to speak about death or grief in ways that allow the sacredness of these experiences to unfold. There is a deep fear, and with it, a heartbreaking loss of opportunity—opportunity for planning, for healing, for connection.
In addition to my clinical background, I have also been of service within sacred ceremonial spaces for several years—offering support that is both practical and energetic. I’ve been told by facilitators and my elders that I carry a grounded, intuitive presence in these realms, attuned to what is seen and unseen. Whether in sacred ceremonies or other spiritually held containers, I hold space with care, integrity, and deep respect for the mysteries that move through these liminal thresholds.
My intention is always to bring comfort, peace, beauty, and even joy—yes, joy—to whatever has led you here.
My own experiences—within my family, my career, and my spiritual life—have led me to create this space: Sweet Winds.
My long-term vision is to create a retreat center for individuals and families navigating terminal diagnoses: a safe, gentle place to pause, breathe, and reconnect before moving into treatment or end-of-life care.
Whether you are facing loss, walking with a loved one, or seeking presence in your own becoming—I’m here.
And I’m honored to walk beside you.
With love,
Heather
